About YANKEE CANDLE
It all started with a gift for Mum.......................................
In 1969 teenager Mike Kitteridge moulded a milk carton candle with his childhood crayons as a gift for his mother.
On the advice from a neighbour he went on to make more candles which he sold.
From this humble beginning Yankee Candle was born.
Today, Yankee Candle is the leader of the scented candle industry, setting the standard for candle makers worldwide!
Every Yankee Candle is made with pride in the USA.
Nowhere else will you find so many true-to-life fragrances in an array of colours to compliment your home.

Burning Instructions
Jar Candles
Handle glass containers with care. Avoid glass to glass contact when handling the lid. Do not use jars that are chipped or cracked.
Discontinue use when 1.5cm of wax remains.
To minimize the wax left on the side of the jars, burn the candle until the wax pool reaches the edge of the glass (this can be up to 3 hours). It is normal for some wax to remain, the amount of this varies according to the fragrance, colour and burning environment.
Scented Tea Lights
Do not burn in enclosed spaces like a tart burner, use only unscented tea lights for this as they have a metal casing and the scented tea lights have a plastic casing which will melt if not used properly.
If wick smokes, extinguish and remove carbon from the wick then relight.
Our scented tea lights can be used as floating candles.
Samplers
Votives are made to liquefy. Burn them only in appropriate holders, never burn freestanding.
Tarts Wax Potpourri
Place tarts wax potpourri in a suitable burner, and light a unscented tea light candle underneath.
To change fragrances, either pour the liquid wax into a lined bin, or once the wax has set, place holder in the freezer for a few minutes and the wax will cleanly slide out. |
Helpful Tips
Should the mouth of your jar candle become blackened, extinguish the flame and allow to cool, carefully wipe the rim of the jar with a dry paper towel.
To avoid this happening keep the wick of the candle trimmed to ½ cm.
Burn the candle out of draughts as this will cause smoke damage/sooting.
Keep candle away from other heat sources such as direct sunlight, radiators and TVs.
Never move a lit candle.
Never leave a lit candle unattended.
Do not allow foreign objects (matches, labels & dust) to fall into the wax pool; as they may ignite and act as a secondary wick.
Cleaning Spilled Wax
To remove spilt wax from fabrics or carpets, cover the wax spill with brown paper or absorbent kitchen paper and gently iron the area with a warm iron until the wax is absorbed. |
